TAP-NY NYC General Election Textathon [Virtual]

September 27, 2021 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm EDT

National Voter Registration Day is coming up on September 28th! Join TAP-NY in a virtual textathon to encourage Asian New Yorkers to get registered and to vote.

New York City’s general elections are on November 2nd, and this is a significant opportunity to elect a new Mayor, City Council, Comptroller, and Borough Presidents who will represent us for the next four to eight years, along with casting your vote on multiple ballot proposals.

The issues that we care about — ensuring a safe environment for Asian American families, increasing educational opportunities, and helping small businesses — will be decided by the people that we elect up and down the ballot.

We’ve set an ambitious goal of sending thousands of text messages to Asian New Yorkers through this textathon. It’s essential that our community has the information needed to register and cast their ballots.

No experience required. During our virtual textathon, our team will provide a thorough training on a virtual platform (Zoom or Google Meet) to walk you through how to send texts using Spoke, and you’ll meet other TAP-NY members getting out the vote in our city! While this event will be held virtually, feel free to grab a friend to sit in a cafe or your apartment to text away together. We’ll be on from 6-8pm, but you’re welcome to come for whatever portion works for you.
